Cube Baby Quilt

The best part of a hobby is doing something slightly new. The making of this quilt was made challenging by not following a written pattern and using the fabric I had as a limiting factor. The cubes are made from six fat quarters from Tilda Chambray and the border fabric (which I believe is also the backing fabric) is Tilda Crisscross in light blue. The quilt was made possible by the blog and video from Teresa Down Under’s blog post and video.(https://teresadownunder.com/2022/07/06/how-to-make-an-easy-tumbling-blocks-quilt) An enormous thank you is owed to her and her work.

Although quilting is becoming less and less new for me, I seem to enjoy putting myself into new challenges. As in, I did not fully think through an idea before committing. Once committed found myself in a challenging place without the knowledge of how to get out of it. For this quilt, I wanted to make a self-binding quilt. Although I had watched many videos on how to, found myself lost and unable to figure out how to fix the chaos quickly. Ultimately, I did find a solution and the quilt was finished and sent away to a friend and their newborn.

The quilt was completed in Spring of 2023 and I no longer possess the memory of my measurements nor the solution to my self-binding conundrum.
